Hey everybody!

If you're here looking at this site right now, that means you're maybe a little curious about my new/first book coming out on April 1st, 2017. It is officially launching in exactly one month. Can you believe it? Me neither. This project has been in the works for a long bloody time and I'm thrilled it's finally coming to fruition.

A Little Backstory

For those that don't know me too well, or that don't know me at all, or that know me but don't know this particular story, this book harkens back to high school. When I was a senior, we finally had complained and torn enough peoples' ears off that the school finally let us have a film fest. This was, along with theatre, my passion. I always wanted to tell larger than life stories and what better way than to get your junk projected onto a thirty foot screen? Maybe it wasn't that big, but it was in a 300 person theatre at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL.

My big idea sort of fell out of me during free period one day, about a yuppy guy drinking his Starbucks that is blindsided by God looking for his fix. It was so goofy and dumb that I wasn't convinced right away that it'd be anything, but as it came together it evolved into a weird commentary on the nature of Armageddon.

Everyone loves to predict the end of days. It's a career path for many people to this day, but especially in the distant past when all they could do is look at a comet and think, "this is the devil coming to give us smallpox and gingivitis!" And while everyone takes a guess at when the Apocalypse will befall us, no one is ever right or we wouldn't be here.

So I made this short film called, "Harrison's Interesting Adventure," and while it wasn't the prettiest film ever--I fell off the ladder a few times while trying to get a God's-eye-view of Harrison--it was a lot of fun, and ultimately, along with a great letter from my drama teacher/director, got me into NYU Film.

So there's a little bit of backstory. Harrison makes an appearance towards the end of the book, and the whole of the structure is derived from that original idea: that Armageddon is just the changing state of things for people in the world, and while it's poetic for it to happen like the bible, it's just as likely to happen outside a Starbucks. If it happens at all.

More Updates to Come

I'll try to post news and other miscellaneous things on here as time goes by and as I come out with more books, but in the meantime, pre-order your copy of "La Cucaracha & Other Tales of Apocalyptic Revelry" today at the iBookstore, Nook, Kobo, and Smashwords. On release day, it will also be available as a paperback and ebook on amazon.com (you get a discount on the ebook if you also buy the paperback... just something to keep in mind ;) ). If I can find an old copy of Harrison, I'll post a clip here soon for fun.

Thanks for checking me out!
